    Hi, I think you missed something here, you even have mistaken me too lol, u see here the word ''The Bird Nest'' with capital letters, that is to say a proper noun, it's not an expression, it's the Bird Nest Stadium in Beijing
    so you can say " انطلق الدوري الأول في ملعب عش الطائر''

    I think you better just say 'start or begin' in this context.
    الجولة الأولي بدأت

    أبصرت النور
    This expression exists literally in English 'see the light', when something sees the light it means it starts to exist.
    In your sentence 'to kick off' is used specially for parties, games or ceremonies,it seeing the light will not be adequate to use here.
    So just say :
    المسابقة أو الجولة ألاولي بدأت
