Hey, I'm having some problems with the preposition equal to English "on". Are there some spesific rules for when to use à, en, dans and sur? :)

    à = at, to
    "en" = in but there are specific rules
    "dans" = in (inside of something)
    "sur" = on
    but we don't use always the same prepositions like in english. You must be aware of that!

    Hi Marina, here are the rules for using French prepositions

    sur means 'on' and dans means 'in' , they are easy to distinguish, however they have some usages that are figurative and abstract ,that come in the form of a mode of expression.

    As for "à" and "en" ,it is more difficult to differentiate between them.
