Russian language has its difficult stuff which may seem pretty hard to learn at first. For instance, conjugations and declinations. Also, there are formal/plural and informal types of "you", and the following verb depends on it in a sentence. But despite that, I wouldn't say it's difficult to learn. It has quite a lot of words that sound similar to English ones. I have a Canadian friend who's learned Russian by hismelf and now speaks and swears in Russian better than me :) Good luck!
