"Moshk" is a natural perfume that used to be taken from deer's body in last
this phrase says if a moshk smell well, the smell must be heard from the moshk itself, not to only hear the praise from the seller! in fact it has a metaphor meaning:
if a thing/person is really good, it should be concluded from its good behavior not by just hearing the praise from its owner/friend.

I think your friend meant that he/she can't say anything to you.
I amnot sure but maybe his keyboard or her keyboard has problem and he or she could not have written all of poems or he or she forgot to write.
These are 2 piece of poems from different poets.
    and
these are about mysticism and mystical poems .
Maybe he/she meant that great men when reach to their Goals (their GOALS are God and love) prefer to keep quite .Because they don`t want to show others that they received God or got some abilities .They are silence because they don`t want others to think they are proud of themselves .
I think situations and conditions that people live in societies are different and these are belongs to persian poets then they prefer to be silent because if they want to speak about themselves others will think that they are liars or have mental problems. These poets are Muslims and lie in Islam is one of deadly sins.If these mystic men cause others ,think bad about them they will blame on themselves because they cause other people do sin and think incorrectly.(lie is a sin)
They are silent because good men are known from their good behaviors and they do not need to speak about themselves. They will be known in the future but step by step .Maybe if they live today they prefer to speak about themselves :)
And I think they have third means too.I always think how how are these men known by others? Maybe they always find their students and in this case teacher (mystic) will find his student .I mean student will not find his teacher .Teacher will find his student .
You know most of Mystics are able to see invisible creature .Even in other religions or ... most of masters find some abilities and powers .
One of them is third eye .As you know the third eye is consedered to be the spiritual eye and it is one of chakras too.
In Islam it can open with some of special prayers and actions and in other ..... it can open even with some of meditations, most of times with (by ,on?)10 steps .
But according to Persian and Turkish poets who are Muslims ,when you can reach this goal and find this ability ,you must keep quiet because you are not permitted to speak about others faults and their effects on their bodies and souls .
As you know ,even our thoughts has energies and effects too ,then they say
And they also says God is Sattarul oyob ستارالعیوب sorry I don`t know what is it in English ستار العیوب is an Arabic word and the feature of God then they want to act like God .They want to learn from him and act like him .
I am not sure my words are true for these or not then I hope other persons who know about these ,can answer you .I am sorry if my words are not correct or their collocations are incorrect . :))))) It has another reasons too that I am not able to write here . :) Because I am not good at writing .

Well, the proverbs are explained as well as possible but, I want to add something that might help you.

It has a similar meaning to :

The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
