    Nobody sees news or physical reality in exactly the same way.

    An obvious case would be the U.S. Civil War (1861-1865).
    The Northern states looked on the war as putting down a rebellion.
    The Southern states looked on the war as an aggressive invasion.
    Each side judged events seen from its own set of beliefs - they filtered them
