Forgetting words when talking... reasons?

Hey guys and galls....

Normally, my writing is good but when I'm in a conversation I kind of feel that I can't remember words... I either have to focus on the English or on the topic I'm talking about. Normally the later, and that's when I start forgetting words.

Is it just me or is it normal?
How do you think I can get over it?

I'm thinking that it might be more psychological than not being good with English... Rather that my mind is not used to hearing me talking in English. Also that I care too much that I don't want to have a single mistake.

I'm planning to record myself while reading a book or articles so that I'm used to hearing myself talking in English. I'm also thinking about trying to find people to practice my English with.

Would like to know your opinions and how to resolve my issue...

This happens to everyone. Since it is so "normal", I would not consider the problem to be psychological. The only solution to the problem is to spend more time conversing with native speakers. Another good tip I've heard is to spend an entire day trying to express all your thoughts (inner dialog) in the language you are trying to learn.

The best way is practicing ( a lot).

I think the best thing you can do is practice, practice, practice!
And don't be afraid to make mistakes, everyone does it.
If you need too, try speaking slower or take some time to think about what you're going to say before saying it.
But over all, be confident when speaking... many times, people only make mistakes when speaking a language that's foreign to them because they're shy and doubt what they're going to say. But you'll only know if it's right or wrong if you say it :)

Don't worry this is normal, unless you are speaking the language everyday.

It's very interesting issue which bothered and dogged me a lot as well. Most probably you are right in suggestion of your self-recordings. I thought myself about those means of improvements a number of times and only my innate laziness has always prevented it to take a proper route.

But not this time I suppose, for, from now on I made up my mind.In any way it would provide a pleasant change of pace from my standard fare.

There's one additional notion.Regardless of how properly and fluently will become eventually your pronunciation,an effect of distinct fluency in English go along with a quantity of words that your mind comprises. Thus your trouble so far (and mine as well) at extracting words is theirs deficiency in general.
