Expired question
describing the future relative to the past

When describing the past in Swahili, how do you describe something that was in the future at that time? For example, in English I could say, "I thought he would get tired." How do you say this in Swahili? If I say "Ninaona alichoka," I assume that means "I thought he was tired [already, at that time]."

Additional Details:

Oops -- that should have been "Niliona alichoka."
