How can I say that I like something more than something else?

Can I use 比 to compare things that I like? And also, how do I say "my favourite"?

    Of course you can use 比.
    For example:
    I like cats more than dogs.
    比起狗来我更喜欢猫。
    If you want to say,"My favourite ",for example:
    My favourite sport is football.
    我最喜欢的运动是足球。
    "My favourite" in Chinese is"我最喜欢".
