Help me...
One pastor in his sermon said: " ...he (someone) spent one thousand dollars a month on drugs and alcohol... Help me..." (sorry for that, but Pastor said it) What does it mean, in this context, phrase "help me" I know, usually it means "Help me! Save my soul!" I guess it's kind of the address to God or..., but I'm not quite sure yet what cases people use this saying in. Who knows explain me please.
If you'll'd ask me what is the hardest stuff in learning English I'll'd said you it's English idioms because it's awesome hard to understand the American sayings.
Look, when I see some thing incredible, amazing or awful stuff I can say "Wow!" or "Oh my Gosh!" or "Oh my God!" but I'll never been use the phrase like "Help me". Reason why not, I know meaning of those words (I checked it in dictionary) 'cos I often hear English speech when people using those phrases. When they say "Oh my God!" they addressed it to the God when they say "Look, check it out!" they did it to me. And when people say "Help me" whom should it be addressed to? Ok. I gonna phone Pastor Lutzer for explaining it to me : -)

I'd understand the expression as "God help me". This is not an address or command, but should be understood as "may God help me"... subjunctive form (imagined or desired actions).
A similar phrase is "(God) give me strength." Again, not an address to God; it's a wish or desire.
