    An out-of-the-way place = A place that you probably couldn't get to on major roads and does not have many other towns (if any) nearby.
    An out-of-town superstore - An out-of-town store or chain is one which does not have branches or stores locally.
    an off-the-peg suit would be one that is of standard size and easily found in stock. You will also find the phrase "off-the-rack", which means pretty much the same thing.
