I will be going to Iceland and I believe I will be using this alot, can you check it for me? Ég er frá Bandaríkjunum ég tala ensku Ég tala nokkur orð í íslensku Talar þú ensku? I want to say: I'm from The United States of America, I speak English, I speak few words in Icelandic, do you speak English?

These are all correct. Afsakið(pl.)/afsakaðu(sing.) is more like "excuse me". Fyrirgefðu(sing.)/fyrirgefiði(pl.) (think of the word forgive) is closer to "I'm sorry".

You should say. Fyrirgefðu, ég er frá Bandaríkjunum, ég tala aðeins nokkur orð á íslensku. Talar þú ensku? We say, orð á íslensku, not " orð í íslensku " But, i can see you are learning and doing great! ;)
