How do you say "Chinese food" in Mandarin?

My tutor said, "Zhong chan". I was looking it up for the pinyin tones but could not find zhong chan. I know it is general wording, but in English we would say, "let's go get some Chinese food" meaning anything from a Chinese restaurant or if we cook some Chinese dish.

I think Chinese food is not only Chinese dishes, but also all kinds of staple food and snacks..

as a general wording, 中餐 zhong1 can1 is ok, and it means any food you have as a dinner...中国菜 means chinese dishes...中式小吃 = chinese snacks
