What's the meaning of "tidak"?

There r 2 sentences in my book
Zainah tidak ana di sini.
Dia bukan anak saya
In the word list, meaning of "tidak"hasn't been shown...
And when I google translate it...it means"no"...but is there any difference between "tidak"and "bukan"?

'tidak' & 'bukan' has the same meaning which is no .
It is just which one is more suitable to use in sentence & which one sounds more natural than the other.
