What does "ya hobbi" means?
it is so simple it means my love.

yes it is a flirting method .. it would sound strange to say to your brother ya hobbi unless you are very very close..but you can use it with your parents to express your love for them.. friends of the same gender usually use it .. and it's a big no no to say that to a stranger .. hope that helps ^^
In jordon or in all Arabic countries we can say ( ya hobbi) to our family members but not always . It's weird to say it but sometime we do it to show our love in informal speech.
We can't say this phrase to strangers especially between woman and man .unless they were close friends or lovers.
