"mga" is used to indicate the plural form of a noun. Ex: mga hayop - animals; mga bulaklak - flowers

In Pilipino or tagalog, instead of adding "s" to a noun, we place a word before the noun to depict the plurality. This word is to depict that the noun that follows is more than one. Ex. Mga susi = keys, mga bagay bagay = some things. Pronunciation = "mang a" where a is a short a.
