"dipanggil" = "be called" (passive form)
"panggil" (it is the origin word of memanggil dan dipanggil) = "call" (active form) but it's more common to use "memanggil"
e.g. Pak Asdi memanggil saya = Mr. Asdi called me.

"Dipanggil" is a passive form.
"Saya dipanggil pak Adi, tapi saya tak tahu jalannya" = I was called by Mr. Adi to come, but I don't know the way to go to Mr.Adi's place.
"Panggil" means 'call', but not call by phone. It's 'calling/shouting/telling someone to come'.
Panggil Adi! = Call Adi! (So Adi will come)...
Boss memanggilmu = Boss calls you (Boss asks you to come) --> active form....
Kamu dipanggil boss. = You are called by boss (You are called by boss, so you have to come) -- passive form....
