Regarding the usage of 사랑하는 as letter opener.

I have a (simple) question for the native Korean speakers here.
In Korean culture/society, is it considered appropriate for friends of opposite gender to open a letter using: "(가장) 사랑하는 누나에게"?
The way I understand it, it roughly translates as "To [my] (most) beloved sister". Which in English could be used without sounding inappropriate, however since Korean society is different I'm not sure how it sounds in Korean. (It is my intention to show that I love this person as deeply as a family member.)

I agree with that above person who answered to some degree.
But i think it depends on person, on their family.
For some family, it is very natural to say like that.
My brother would always call me like 'my beloved sister'. So for me, there is nothing weired.

You can use "To my beloved sister" in letter.
But Koreans, especially old generation, are not familiar with that usage,
Koreans don't usually "I love you" among family members, especially siblings.
Sometimes, mothers say to their children, "I love you."
