Use of 'di in the following sentences.
Why is there no ‘di’ (of) in the first sentence, but there is in the second?
I shall be leaving on the first of June
Partirò il primo giugno
If you come here at the end of May
Se viene qui alla fine di maggio
Both of the English sentences require ‘of’ so why doesn’t sentence number one require it in Italian.

Because in the first one who wrote that had chosen to put the "di" while the writer of the second one chosed to make the opposite. In Italian are possible both.
