Ne faire que rendre qqch...

J'ai trouvé cette phrase:

"Cela n'a fait que rendre ma vie plus difficile encore."

Mais je ne sais pas précisement la traduire. Est-se que ce serait la même chose que "Cela ne rendre que ma vie plus difficile encore"? C'est-à-dire je sais que ça veut dire "That only made my life more difficult still" mais je n'ai aucune idée de ce qu'est la raison pour le mot "faire" ici.

    "Cela ne rendre que ma vie plus difficile encore" pas correcte
    C'est une forme indirecte. Cela étant le sujet il doit être suivi du verbe conjugué,
    on pourrait dire: cela rend ma vie encore plus difficile.

    But like this:"ne ..... que" really emphasize (not sure of this one ???)
    This is doing nothing more than making my life even more dificult.

    Actually you use made in your sentence too.

     

    n'a fait = only did
    rendre ma vie plus difficile = made my life more difficult.

    Sometimes you can't translate every words because we came up with different way to say things. If you understand a sentence, but not every words, don't focus too much on those.
