We don't use this verb tense when you speak. Or rarely especially the 1srt, 2d, 3rd person singular.
The 1srt, 2d, 3rd person plural is only used in the books, especially XVIII, XIX century.
It doesn't forbidden if you use it in oral but, you will sound speak like an old book and we will laugh because it will sound funny!
In French oral or writing to indicate the past tense, we use passé composé :
j'ai fait
tu as fait
il a fait
nous avons fait
vous avez fait
ils ont fait

Bonjour M Ricardo, en français nous utilisons presque jamais le passé simple , utiliser le passé composé quand vous parlez c`est très bien et plus facile. Bonne chance . Yvette de Québec Canada,
