    1. In the end of the word:
    клуб [п]
    плов [ф]
    глаз [с]
    мог [к]
    сад [т]
    муж [ш]
    2. before another unvoiced consonant in the middle of the word (often with В):
    ВСегда [фс]
    ВСё [фс]
    аВТор [фт]
    АВСтралия [фс]

    You're quite right.
    б - п ("б", but not "ь")
    в - ф
    з - с ("з", not "э")
    г - к
    д - т
    ж - ш
They also have their soft variants.

It depends of letter position in this word, presence of the vowels before this specific symbol and other features. You can learn it by reading russian language textbooks or from web sites, but i have no idea where to find this rules in english.
