Please can you explain 种着 in this sentence.

四合院里经常种着石榴，桃树和枣树。

I understand what it means as a whole, but I'm unsure about the usage of 种着 and how best to translate it other than saying, In the courtyards there are Pomegranate, peach and date trees.

“…着” means a kind of the condition.
It lay stress on the condition rather than action.

for example，种着，停着，站着：

花园里种着许多花。
There are lots of flowers planting in the garden."

这儿停着一辆车。
There is a car parking here.

房顶站着一个人。
There is a man standing on the roof of flat.
