Mawalang-galang is it an ok way of saying Excuse me in tagalog?
When I was in the Philippines I heard most people just say Excuse Me in english. Would you sound weird if you said Mawalang-galang? Im just wondering cause this language program im studying is giving me Mawalang-galang as excuse me translation.

I grew up in the Philippines until I was 21 years old and for me, saying "Excuse me" instead of "Mawalang galang" is more common among Filipinos. But for me, a scenario that "Mawalang galang" can be used are towards the elderly. It shows more respect.
Yes, 'mawalang galang' might mean excuse me but we don't really use it in that context. I know I don't cause I'd sound weird. I prefer to say excuse me. For me, 'mawalang galang' is commonly used towards the elders, maybe your big boss or someone who has an authority. It's kind of saying 'with all due respect' in English.
