Expired question
Inappropriate language in Japanese?
This is a question outta curiosity and for reference in the future (don't wanna swear in front of kids, no mater what language it is in). Is there any "inappropriate" words in Japanese that shouldn't be used in a child's earshot? Like in English we have "s**t" "b**ch" "d*mn" and other such swearing/cussing not intended for child use. Does Japanese have such instances in their words? I know "kuso" is normally Translated as "d*mn", and "teme" (I probably spelt that wrong) is translated as "f*** you" (literal translation I have learned is actually just a rude way of referring to someone, basically saying "you" with distaste and contempt). Of course these are examples normally only found in Fan-subbed anime (normally done by translators who are heavy swearers themselves as I have come to know some of them), so would these and/or other words/phrases be considered inappropriate for child use or use around?
Thanks,
Rykuu D.
PS. sorry if the question is worded poorly, this is a difficult question to ask as I am uneasy asking it, but find that it is important information none the less.
