Of course you can use google translate for whole sentences but it's not accurate. a good English-Hebrew dictionary for single word translations is: http://www.morfix.co.il/ or http://milon.walla.co.il/ts.cgi?tsscript=index&dTypeSelect=1-0

It's an excellent tool to translate words and phrases between every 2 languages.
In fact' it is powerful enough to translate long sentences and paragraphs - which I *DON'T* recommend to use it for, as it can easily become a crutch and let you "sidestep" actual learning.
