What is the meaning of 'palee' in this sentence. I know it can mean a 'ladle' or 'scooper' but that doesn't make sense here:
छत पर से पली चिल्लायी: 'दौड़ो बन्दर!"

The word is पत्नी (patni / wife) though it looks like पली.
