why use "aver"?

Could you please tell me why use "aver" insteand of "avere"?

Moreover, what does "un conto in rosso" mean?

In Italian that's called "troncamento" (or apocope), which is when you "truncate" a word.
It's ok to use either form there, to know more about the general rules to use it:

"Un conto in rosso" means an account with no money on it, or if it's possible, where you've a negative balance, usually the second case for this expression is more common.

Se sei interessata all'argomento puoi dare uno sguardo qua: :)
