are the two words have the same usage? and same meaning?
if so, can we replace one another ?

it's as simple as this :
أكبر : ( akbar) bigger --> كبير : big sometimes it could mean also ( greater)
أكثر : ( akthar) more --> كثير: a lot
and no you can't just replace the one with the other.
بسرعة أكبر ( bisur3a akbar)
بتمهل أكثر ( bitamah-hul akthar)
examples:
أحتاج إلى حقيبة أكبر . ( a7taju ila 7aqibatin akbar)
I need a bigger bag
تفاحتي أكبر من تفاحتك ( tuffa7ati akbar min tuffa7atuk)
my apple is bigger than yours.
أريد أن أحقق نجاحاً أكبر ( uridu an u7aqiqa naja7an akbar)
I want to achieve greater succes.
اعطني أكثر من قطعة ( a3tini akthat min qit3ah)
give me more than one piece.
