-서 and -고: what do they mean?

i've seen these endings on words that are familiar to me like "좋아서" and "없고". Do they change the meaning of these words?

-고 & -서 are both used for connecting two sentences together. -고 is short for 그리고 (and) and -서 is short for 그래서(so...). -고 can be used for past and present tense.

    Example:

(I watched a movie and listened to music.)

(Junsu likes soccer so he will surely want to watch it.)

Keep in mind that -서 is either -아서/어서/여서(해서).
