Was General Choi Yoong a friend of King Konmin?

I don't know about their private relationship. ^^*
But general Choi was a reliabe loyal staff of King Kongmin.
General Choi had defeated mongol army, chinese rebellion, japanese pirates
and saved this country.
After defeating enemies, he gained a great fame but he had always been loyal to the King.
He had played important role in end of Corea dynasty.
But Unfortunately he had been killed by the coup d'tat army.
He was very competent and famous ,so the rebel force could not leave him alive.
I think he was born in wrong time , a wrong place.
