아니 / 아니요 / 아니에요 / 아니예요

Do the different endings stand for formalities or does each word stand for a different meaning.

I feel like 아니 and 아니요 both mean No, only 아니요 is a more polite form.

I get confused with 아니에요 and 아니예요 though. Do they have exact meanings and maybe someone has examples of where they are correctly used.

    아니, 아니요, 아니에요 (O) / 아니예요 (X)
All of them means 'NO' except '아니예요' which is not right at all.
Just like you said, '아니요' and '아니에요' are polite way of saying 'NO'.
'-에요' is an ending of a word and '-예요' does not exist.
    FYI, '아니에요' can be '아녜요'.

I hope you will get it. If you have more questions, ask me anything!
