We live in the age of progress -- the age of technology. Despite the many positive aspects to this "age of progress," there are many negative aspects as well. It is undeniable that many of these new-generation devices have made life easier. Computers and mobile phones have made it easier for people to connect with one another despite the distance that separate them. Internet, the symbol of this age, has been revoluzionizing the world of communications and has been contributing to the phenomenon of globalization. The internet can be used for almost anything: research, listening to music, preparing a holiday, making online acquaintances, all done while being able to sit comfortably on our sofas. Technology is also being used in the medical field, providing promising results for the treatment of diseases.
It seems, however, that nowadays, people depend too much on new technologies. People can't help but use their mobile phones, computers or IPad's for almost anything. This exponential progress could lead us into ruin as we desire for more and more. We soon overcome natural bounds, marking an unfortunate destiny. Progress, with its by-products of factories and industries, is destroying nature. Nevertheless, the fact seems to not budge people, people who tend to be too busy living their convenient lives. . For these reasons, if we want a better future, we had better begin to think about the consequences of our present actions and stop playing God.
