what's the difference between 「〜(た)り、〜(た)ります」and 「〜(て)、〜(て)、〜ます」?

they're both means "to do ~, ~, ~" right? so what's the difference?

for example:
・日曜日にしょうじをしたり、せんたくをしたり、映画を見たりします。
・日曜日にしょうじをして、せんたくをして、映画を見ます。

thanks! (did i type them right?)

    Hi fistania,

I think you have mistyped そうじ [掃除]for "cleaning". Other than that, the spelling is correct.

Please note that in compound verbs like せんたくをして the particle を is often dropped.

The meaning of the 2 sentences is slightly different:

With したり, したり, したりします you give a list of activities that are in no chronological order. It means you will clean your room, do your laundry and watch a movie on Sunday, but not necessarily in this order and among other things.

With して, して, します you give a list of activities that you will perform in this order and you will (probably) do nothing else in between the three activities.
