    "fifty pence" is UK currency, it is a coin, The value is one half of £1 sterling.
    "fifty pence pieces" , this is the plural and the phrase we use to describe more than one "fifty pence"
    "pound coins", this is teh phrase to describe more than one £1 coin.. The "pound coin" replaced the £1 paper note. The lowest paper note commonly used in the UK today is £5,
