    When it's used to close a discussion, it's not translatable (a bit ike a idiom). A French speaker would probably shrug (and make a "pff" noise) to convey "I don't care/this discussion is closed" rather that say "whatever". They might say other things (like suggested by Juan or "cause toujours" "parle à ma main" "on s'en balance") but none would be an exact equivalent. "whatever" is brilliant but typically English.

     

    Meinst du "irgendjemand" (whoever)? Wenn ja, das könnte sein "n'importe qui","quiconque", "qui que (ce soit )(qui)"..., das kommt auf den Kontext an.
