    Hello Kalil:

The only difference is the accent, and some slight spelling differences.

For example, Americans write "color" and the British write "colour".
Americans write "fiber" and the British write "Fibre".

Well, there are a few differences. The accent is the most obvious and the most noticeable thing, and at the MOST basic level it is the only noticeable thing. However, there exist differences on stress in select words (for example, the words "development, basil, herbs" ect...). THere are some other subtle differences too such as when to use punctuation before (American) or after (British) quotation marks, and some comma usage is different. But on many levels, it is quite regular to my understanding. I have lived in both the USA (now) and I have lived in Great Britain too (for a year).

Words can mean different things too. Cars in America have hoods and trunks, in the UK they have bonnets and boots. In the UK a rubber is an eraser, in the USA it is a condom.

Sentence structure and phrasing can differ quite a lot. Americans say the are working out of a place, we Brits say we are working in a place.

There are dozens of such differences but the important thing is we can usually understand each other!
