Does this seem strange in French?
If I wanted to create a twitter profile for cool french words - would it be weird to call it motbylette?

Oui, c'est étrange.
Une mobylette is a small motorcycle under 50 cc with pedals the ones who were compulsory if you were not 16 years old.
Its refered as a mob in usual language.
You could go motobylette which means nothing but sound french; its a bit ironical because motos are the big one over 250cc and bylette refers from the first one.
