Can you give me the sentence? It's an expression. It means "equivalent retaliation." Think of it like a chess game. If every time that you capture a pawn, I capture a pawn, then we are going "tit for tat." Everytime you try to exert an advantage over another, the other responds in the exact same way. We are bidding for an auction item. You say $5, I say $5. You say $10, I say $10, You say $20, I say $20. Every move you make, I'm there, matching your bids "tit for tat."

It means that someone has done something (usually bad) and the other person is going to give an equivalent payback.
    Ex:
    A. He didn't lend me some money in my hard time even though I am his good friend. (He is going to get a) tit-for-tat.

So you can see that it is somewhat similar to 'revenge'.
    Hope that helped.

If you do something bad to someone because he did something bad to you then it means you did a "tit for tat" action. A bad thing happened to that person in return for the bad thing he did to you.

    It's that simple. =)
it is a saying... means jaise ko taisa in hindi(जैसे को तैसा) means doing the same as someone did to you.
like for example you do good to someone ,in return you will expect him to do the same,
if someone is rude to you so you will be rude to him(natural behavior )
