ん in the meaning of ぬ or む(よう)

Hello, I can't understand 平らげん in this sentence means like "not to subjugate" or "planning to subjugate". Explain please this to me. Thank you very much.
Full sentence: よし野郎ども、各自マイ缶切りの用意はいいな?食べるも地獄、残すも地獄。我ら五時限目の授業はないものと恐れぬ修羅となり、鉄の悪魔どもを[b]平らげん[/b]――

    鉄の悪魔どもを平らげん = let's eat up the iron devils.

    This is an archaic expression,
    though sometimes the word of "ない"
    meaning "negative" can change to "ん"
    especially, in a daily conversation between friends.

    e.g.)

    それ、いらんでしょ。 / それはいらないでしょう。
    = I don't think it is necessary. / I doubt if it would be useful.

    Maybe you will have a question how to distinguish the 2 types.
    (We, native people, can unconsciously do so...)

    In details,

    (archaic expression)食べるも地獄、残すも地獄。
    →(current expression) 食べるのも地獄、残すのも地獄。

    (archaic expression)我ら
    →(current expression in order of formal form)
    われわれ > わたしたち > ぼくたち(male's word) > おれたち(male's word)

    (archaic expression)恐れぬ
    →(current expression)恐れない

    "修羅" and "ども" also create such a mood.

    「平らげん」(古語)=「平らげよう」(現代語)・・・英語はLet's defeat(/eat up)だと思います。
