Resolved questions
i saw the sentences such as

"There was bread, meat, eggs and many drinks."ht

my question is why 'was' is there?

Isn't 'were' right? I think 'bread, meat, eggs and many drinks' is a form of 'plural'

I can't find the grammar rule for this, but I would say that the first word in the list determines if you will use "there was" or "there were" (or "there is" versus "there are"). For example:
    - There was music, games and alcohol at the party.
    - There were games, music and alcohol at the party.
    - There is meat, vegetables and pasta on this plate.
    - There are vegetables, meat and pasta on this plate.

Hello... This sentence is complicated by poor grammar but I will try to explain.

This is related to the conjugation for the verb "to be", which changes for each 'person'.

    I am -- I was
    You are -- You were
    He/She/It is -- He/She/It was

"There" would be regarded as "it", so the verb follows the conjugation for he/she/it.

    Hope this helps.
