What does "the one" refer to in this sentence?
At one time you could have asked me if I thought the snow meant something and I would have said yes. I might have thought there was some significance to the fact that there had been snow on the day Murph had come into my life and snow on the day I willed myself into the one that had been taken from him. I may not have believed it, but I’m sure I would have wanted to.
What does "the one" refer to in " I willed myself into the one that had been taken from him."? What's the meaning of "will into" in the same sentence?
Thanks!

"One" is Murph's life. "Will" is a transitive verb meaning "to try to make something happen through one's intention".
