my friends and I are arguing with this.
"he cut his hand,badly."
I think it means "he cut his hand and got seriously injury" while my friend insist on"he almost cut his hand,but luckily that didn't happend."
which one is right?and plz explain why.thank you.

    You are right. Your friend is mistaken. "Badly" is an adverb modifying "cut".
