    It looks like it might be a scythe, which is a tool used on a farm for cutting grain.

    It might also be a hoe, which is a tool used for breaking up the ground to plant crops.

     

    I agree - it's a scythe! (Pronounced "saidh"... ie. a thick 'th' sound.)

    In English it is a scythe, and in Italian it is a "falce", the verb is "falciare".
