    You can say 고맙다, 고마워 when you talk with friends or someone who is younger than you. In other words, they are informal language and 고마워 is more friendly than 고맙다.

    You can say 고마워요, 감사합니다 when you talk with a stranger or someone who is older than you. In other words, they are formal language. 감사합니다 is more formal than 고마워요.

    In Korean grammar, there are many kinds of ways of using the honorific. You don't need to know all of them. Just practice with real life words.
