You use saber when you have a knowledge about something: saber Inglés, saber llegar. ( to have knowledge about English, know how to get to a place)

Then you use conocer when you have a knowledge about something: conocer italia, conocer paris.

Or you can use it when you know someone conocer a Marco, conocer a Luisa.
