una domanda su "ad esempio"

La gente e` un termine singolare con significato plurale;
molto di rado si usa /le genti/, come ad esempio: [but there are two examples!!!! mi sa che " coma a esempi " e' la forma giusta, cosa ne pensi?]
-- le genti di molti paesi sono passate per l'Italia in secoli di Storia
-- gli antichi Romani hanno combattuto eserciti di molti stati e ne hanno conquistato le genti.

È come in inglese, puoi scrivere "for example" eppoi fare una lista di esempi.
Così in italiano puoi scrivere "ad esempio" o "per esempio", due punti, e fare una lista di esempi.
