'Practice' is a noun and 'practise' is a verb

its a just american / british words

    Hello Jyothirmayee. How are you?

There is a difference of opinion on this as I can see.

I did not even know there was a word such as "practise". Perhaps Jeyakumar is correct to say that it is a British Spelling.

I do use the word PRACTICE with consistency in my communications.

Example: "It may be the practice of some people to subscribe to Idea "A"; but I subscribe to Idea "B"."

"Our practice of English will be most beneficial I think."

Please comment if you would like further examples. I will gladly supply them.

Well this is the first time in my life (possibly along with the spelling of "center", that I agree with American English. In America they use "practice" for everything. I actually didn't know the difference between the two words so I looked it up, and it doesn't make a great deal of sense to me, "Practice makes perfect, so I must practise more". This......................is a strange one. Maybe I'd understand it more if I look for the origin of both words. http://www.tellmewhyfacts.com/2008/06/what-is-difference-between-practice-and.html
