What's a difference between " kind" , " type" , " sort" ?

    There isn't really any! For example:
    'What kind of mobile phone do you have?'
    'What type of mobile phone do you have?'
    'What sort of mobile phone do you have?'

    These all mean exactly the same thing. Type is probably a little better in formal situations, but other than that, they're synonyms.

    Other Examples:

    "What kind of an Idiot are you?"

    "What sort of an Idiot are you?"

    "What type of an Idiot are you?"

    "You are the sort of person who really wants to make me just throw up!"

    "You are the kind of person who really wants to make me just throw up!"


    "You are the type of person who really wants to make me just throw up!"

    And so forth and so on, you see?
