Do you think 'nationality' is a proper word to be used here?
Tyler became well-known NATIONALITY in 1938, when he carried his work with the Eight-Year Study from Ohio State University to the University of Chicago at the invitation of Robert Hutchins.
Tyler is a famous man. 'Nationality' means 'the legal status of being a citizen of a particular country' or 'a group of people who have the same race, language, or culture'.
Can I say 'a person became well-known nationality'? Thank you.

You would not say nationality in this context. You would use nationality if you were describing where he came from. You would instead use "nationally."
