    No difference. Let's look at some examples:

    "The error in the published idea was that it was a logical fallacy."

    "The mistake in the published idea was that it was a logical fallacy."

    "The mistaken idea is that it is a "Sweeping Generalization".

    "The erroneus idea here is that it is a "Sweeping Generalization"

    "I may be mistaken, and if so, I will offer you my heartfelt apology."

    "If I am in error, I will offer you my heartfelt apology."
